Hi, my name is Pooja, and I am the founder of Makiaj Beauty. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 17, which practically makes me a native. After declining an acceptance letter to medical school, I decided to follow my true passion: making women look and feel beautiful.

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with color, texture, and beauty. My creativity is born from a deep curiosity about the ever-evolving woman and life. I bring a relentless spirit to my work and craft. By asking thought-provoking questions, I’ve encouraged my clients to share their vulnerable moments.

Wow. Yes I had to start with a big WOW. Pooja is talented, enjoys her work, and it really shows with the whole process from start to finish. We did a bridal hair and makeup trial and I am very glad that I did. It is well worth doing a trial because you not only get to see the results, but you also get to know Pooja as a person and as an artist that she is. On my wedding day, my hair and makeup was exactly what I had envisioned. Again, I was very lucky all the details ended up tying together. I felt very beautiful.
